According to the Global Hunger Index 2023, India ranks among the countries with serious hunger issues. A huge segment of the population especially in the low-income groups, can’t afford nutritious let alone sufficient food. Their diet has poor diversity of essential nutrients like proteins, iron and vitamins, given their meals consist of only basic staples like rice and dal. Not consuming fruits, vegetables and protein-rich food they suffer malnutrition leading to low immunity and poor health. This contributes to high rates of underweight individuals, anemia, micronutrient deficiencies and more across all age groups. Poor health not just affects the individuals but also slows the country’s growth and progress. Fighting hunger and malnutrition is important by making nutritious food accessible to all. This discontinues the cycle of poor health and poverty, improves individual health and national development.
Proper nutrition is essential during the growth years of the children. This nutrition helps in the growth of their mental as well as physical capabilities. But at the same time, when this nutrition is not available to them, it can cause irreversible consequences. It can cause stunted growth, lower self-esteem issues, health complications, etc. This ultimately leads to lower academic performance, which in turn restricts them from better opportunities in the future. If the proper health of these children is not ensured, it is really difficult for the country to progress in the right direction. Therefore, it is very essential to provide the right nutrition at the right time for these children in need.
To make sure the children get proper nutrition in their growing years, Riddhi Siddhi Charitable Trust is working tirelessly for the cause. Our NGO carries out meal and food distribution drives in the hinterland of the country to reach children in need. We conduct these drives with the help of dedicated volunteers who make sure they give their best to reach these children. These drives provide nutritious meals to make sure these children get what their body needs for good health. The meal consists of dal, rice, pulses, salads, roti etc. to provide an overall healthy diet for children. These drives are also carried out in areas of major cities and rural areas to reach children there at their places of residence or schools. This makes sure that the food requirements of all the children are taken care of in a better way.
Proper nutrition is as important for the children as it is for the
adults. As such, we have other parts of the population that need
attention as far as food security is concerned. This consists of
vulnerable women and the elderly.Women’s empowerment goals cannot be
fully realized without ensuring proper health for all girls and women.
Therefore, Riddhi Siddhi Charitable Trust has started a food campaign
for girls as well as women. Our
NGO carries out multiple meal campaigns throughout the year for
schoolgirls to ensure their health. At the same time, meals and
rations are provided to vulnerable women who are unable to feed
themselves due to various reasons, such as poverty.
The senior citizens in our society deserve utmost care and respect especially in the later stages of their
life.
Traditionally, when joint families prevailed in our Indian culture, the elders were looked after with love
and care by
the families. But as times changed and nuclear families became more common, many elder people have been left
to fend for
themselves. This emerging western culture has sadly contributed to the growing number of old age homes
across the
country.
In what should be the most peaceful and cherished years of their lives, many senior citizens are now
battling loneliness
and health issues without the support of their loved ones. Understanding the reality of today's modern
world, Riddhi
Siddhi Charitable Trust started with a heartfelt initiative by organizing regular food distribution
campaigns for the
elders. These campaigns are more about providing our elderly with nutritious food, restoring their dignity
and
demonstrating to them that they are still important. Our NGO wants to restore comfort, care and health of
elders through
all of these initiatives.
A complete and healthy diet is the most important requirement of the
body. Even more significant is the food requirement of the
vulnerable individuals in the population. But to provide for this
population is a huge task in which we need your support. With your
help, our charity organisation can ensure to continue meal and
ration drives to reach every part of this country. This will help
them get out of poverty and support India to become a prosperous
nation.
Let us end hunger and work towards #ViksitIndia.
