Why to Sponsor a Child: Uncover the Truth

The journey of an orphan in India is one of profound challenges. With approximately 3 crore children without parental support, the need for comprehensive care is immense. These children often face hurdles that impact their mental, emotional, and physical development, including inadequate nutrition, stunted growth, and educational setbacks.

At the Riddhi Siddhi Charitable Trust in Mumbai, we've created a haven—an ashram that provides much more than just shelter. Here, we offer a nurturing home environment, nutritious meals, and the dignity of decent clothing to ensure every child feels included and valued. Crucially, we focus on their education, providing not just schooling but also extra tuition to build a strong foundation for their future. These efforts are vital for their overall development, but they require continuous support. Join our "Sponsor a Child" campaign today and become a crucial part of a child's success story.

Crore Abandoned Kids: The Heartbreaking Reality in India

There is an old proverb that says, ”It takes a village to raise a child.”. This aptly explains what it takes to raise a child in a family or a society. This is because there are various factors that have to be taken care of for raising a child properly. This begs the question of what happens to children without parents or guardians in their lives. How do they find support—who takes care of their food, clothing, and shelter requirements, or who protects them from the evil elements in society? These are some hard questions that we as a society need to ask ourselves to find out how a kid with no parents can live a productive life without any support from everyone around them. Let us try to understand the situation more carefully.
According to a survey, there are approximately 3 crore kids in India who have no parents. These children are the ones who are without their parents or any guardians in their lives. The reason for their abandonment can be varied from loss of parents, financial constraints of the guardians, or even abuse. Regardless of the reasons for their situation, these children are often at a loss as compared to other children in society. The losses include underdevelopment of their mental as well as emotional capabilities, stunted growth due to improper nutrition, confidence and self-esteem issues, etc. To provide help for these children, we need a comprehensive solution that can take care of all the difficulties in the kids' lives who don’t have any parents.

Providing Shelter: A Home for Every Child

To take care of the troubled situation of underprivileged kids in India, Riddhi Siddhi Charitable Trust started with a shelter home in Mumbai. This shelter home was started for the sole reason of helping underprivileged children find a support system in their lives. For the children in the shelter, many facilities have been started. The most important one is shelter. As these children have been unable to find shelter since childhood, a safe place called home is significant for them. This shelter home consists of sufficient rooms and infrastructure to support these children. They are looked after by a caretaker and a cook at the shelter home. The cook makes sure to provide nutritious food for the children for their overall development.

Another major factor for the children is dignity. This dignity is provided by decent clothing for them all the year. It also includes school uniforms and daily clothing for them. This clothing ensures that these children do not feel left out as compared to the other children in their vicinity. One more important factor is education. Due to various circumstances, these children have not been able to get an education since childhood. This causes issues in the foundation of various subjects. Together with proper schooling, these children also need extra help with their education. Therefore, they are provided with extra tuition classes, which gives them a strong foundation of all the skills that they have lost due to the absence of proper guidance since childhood. All these efforts make sure there is overall development of the children at the shelter home.

Sponsor a Child: Make Their Dreams Come True

Our shelter home was started in the hope of the betterment of these children. But for the proper running of the shelter, we need support. The school fees increase every year, and school uniforms and stationery also get expensive. Also, the food requirements of the children and clothing costs are increasing due to inflation each year. To make sure the children do not face any interruption due to this, we need your help with our “Sponsor a Child” campaign. In this campaign, any donor can sponsor or provide financial assistance for the children present at our shelter home. The sponsorship options are flexible; you can choose what to support and for how long. For example, a donor can decide what part he or she wants to sponsor for a child and for how much time they want to. So if a person wants to sponsor a child's food needs for a year and if another donor wants to sponsor a child’s food needs for 6 months, then both of them can do so with ease. This sponsorship of children includes necessities like meals, clothing, and shelter. It also includes medical assistance for these children as well as career guidance for the children for their future aspirations. With your support, let us make their dreams come true.

As per the Indian Income Tax Department’s rules, a donor is required to add their Full Name, Address and PAN number in case they wish to claim tax exemption. To get the 80-G certificate, please enter your PAN number. We treat your personal information confidentially and will not transfer such details to any third parties.
